Customize the URL of a Chariow store

Customizing your URL is key for branding and SEO (natural referencing). Instead of a generic address, you can change your URL’s identifier (slug) so it matches your brand name.

Example: Instead of https://abcdefg.mychariow.com/, go for https://afriklic.mychariow.com/.

Step 1: Go to your domain settings

1. Log in to your Chariow dashboard.

2. Go to Settings (Settings).

3. Pick Domain name under Advanced settings.

Step 2: Change the Identifier (Slug)

1. Find the Custom URL section and click on Customize.

2. In the field, add the slug you want to give your URL (for example, afriklic).

Tip: - Use only lowercase letters, no spaces or special characters (they’ll be replaced automatically).

- Your slug needs to be unique and valid.

Step 3: Save and validate

1. If the name is already taken, the platform will let you know the ID is unavailable. You’ll need to try a variation (like adding a number or a dash).

2. If the name you picked is good, click "Save".

Once saved, your new URL is active right away

IMPORTANT: This action is irreversible. Once it’s saved, you won’t be able to change your shop’s URL.
