Have you noticed that some sales aren't completed on your store? Don’t worry, there are several reasons why a transaction might fail. Knowing these reasons will help you keep them to a minimum.
Customer abandoned payment
Sometimes the customer leaves the page before completing the entire payment process. A bit of hesitation, a distraction, or just not enough trust can stop the transaction.
Insufficient funds
If the customer doesn’t have enough on their account (Mobile Money or card) at the moment they try to buy, the payment just won't go through.
Technical problem
Payments go through mobile operators. If there’s a glitch or some temporary bug with the mobile provider (GSM network) or the payment service, payment might not go through.
If you want to boost your conversion rate and lower failed orders, here’s what we suggest:
Communicate with your customers: Encourage your customers to check their balance and make sure they have a good Internet connection (stable Wi-Fi or 4G) before making a purchase.
Optimize the customer experience: Set up automatic reminders to invite customers to try their purchase again. For example, you can create a workflow to send a reminder message some time after the cart is abandoned.
Technical tips: Recommend your customers use an up-to-date web browser for the best possible compatibility with the payment page.
