Manage your API Keys on Chariow

This article explains how to create, use, and secure your API Keys to integrate your Chariow store with external apps and services.

Odile ASSOGBA·October 6, 2026

API Keys let you securely connect your store to third-party tools (like automation platforms or analytics services). They act as an identifier to authorize these services to communicate with your Chariow data.

How to create an API key

Follow these steps to generate a new key:

  1. Log in to your Chariow interface.

  2. In the left side menu, go to the "Settings" tab.

  3. In the Developer section, click on the "API Keys" tile.

  4. If you don't have a key yet, click on the "Create an API key" button.

  5. In the popup window, enter a clear Name for your key (e.g.: "Key for production server").

  6. Click on "Create".

Important: Saving your key

As soon as the key is generated, a confirmation window pops up with your full key (e.g. sk_9zdr...).

Copy and save it immediately in a safe and accessible place.

Security: For security reasons, you won't be able to see the full key from your account again after you close this window.

Loss: If you lose this key, you won't be able to recover it and you'll have to generate a new one.

Managing and tracking your keys

Once your keys are created, you can manage all your access from the summary table:

  • Viewing details: Click on the row corresponding to the key or on the three dots icon (Actions) then on "View" to open a side panel. There you'll find:

    • The key name and its end of series (to identify it without fully exposing it).

    • The creation date and the author.

    • The Last use and the Last IP used to monitor activity.

  • Deletion: If a key is no longer used or if it has been compromised, click on "Delete" in the side panel or the actions menu to revoke access immediately.
