Customize your Chariow store URL

Customizing your URL is key for branding and SEO (natural referencing). Instead of a generic address, you can change your URL's identifier (slug) to reflect your brand name.

Example: Instead of https://abcdefg.mychariow.com, aim for https://afriklic.mychariow.com.

Step 1: Go to your domain settings

1. Log in to your Chariow dashboard.

2. Go to Settings.

   

3. Select Domain Name under Advanced Settings.

Step 2: Edit the Identifier (Slug)

1. Find the Custom URL section and click on Customize.

2. In the field, add the slug you want to use for your URL (for example, afriklic).

   

You don't need to add the ending .mychariow.com to the name you enter, because it's added automatically.

Tip: - Only use lowercase letters, no spaces or special characters (otherwise they'll get replaced automatically).

- Your slug has to be unique and valid.

Step 3: Save and confirm

1. If the name is already taken, the platform will let you know that the ID is unavailable. You'll then need to try a variation (e.g., add a number or a dash).

2. If the chosen name is valid, click "Save".

Once registration is successful, your new URL is live right away

IMPORTANT: This action is irreversible. Once saved, you won't be able to change your store’s URL.
